Corporate Identity: CCAPP Credentialing, Incorporated is a non-profit 501(3)(C) providing credentialing services to individuals and registration for substance use disorder programs in California.
Mission Statement: To license and certify qualified addiction-focused professionals towards attaining the highest professional standards.

Further, they shall comply with the policy of protecting the privacy of clients and may not disclose (without written consent) confidential information acquired in the certification or registration processes.
CCAPP Credentialing is one of three certifying organizations approved by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to register and certify Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD)/ Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselors in the State of California. CCAPP Credentialing also maintains accreditation with the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE) to demonstrate to the profession it represents. The general public it serves that its credentialing program has been reviewed by a panel of impartial experts who have determined that the program has met the stringent standards set by the credentialing community. ATTENTION: Application review and processing is a minimum of thirty (30) calendar days from the date received a complete application (which means all bubbles are green in Certemy on your current application, our electronic application system); our average processing time is 23 days. This means that your application will take no more than 30 days to be reviewed and processed by our office. This applies only to COMPLETE applications that are not missing documentation. If your application is incomplete, your application processing may be further delayed beyond 30 days, so please plan accordingly. Certification does not imply or allow the individual holder to diagnose disease, as specified under applicable state or federal law. Certification is not issued or mandated by state or federal authority.
CCAPP Credentialing Responsibilities:
- Hire and train staff to review all applications for certification and administer written certification examinations (if applicable per policies as required by IC&RC)
- Ensure applications meet set requirements
- Review appeals and/or requests and direct staff accordingly
- Abide by Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, and Administrative Agreements that govern the corporation
- Maintain the integrity of the application process and ensure that deliberations and certification timelines of CCAPP Credentialing is designed to determine whether the applicant meets standards. That determination is the jurisdiction and responsibility of the Credentialing Board.
