At a time when the behavioral health field is experiencing unprecedented levels of demand, CCAPP is proud to invest in the professionals behind the work. Whether you are just starting out, advancing your career, or maintaining your credentials, this is your opportunity to do it, fee-free.

For a limited time, we are excited to offer fee waivers on RADT, CADC, and LAADC series credentials. This includes fees on:

  • Initial credential applications
  • Advancement applications
  • Exam fees
  • Transfer fees
  • Renewal applications
  • Late fees

This special opportunity is a part of CCAPP’s ongoing effort to support the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselor workforce. This fee-free initiative is aimed at reducing the financial barriers for new and experienced counselors.

Fee-Free Windows:

Does not include anyone who has already paid for their applications. We will not issue any refunds.

How to Get Your Fee Waiver

    Do not submit a fee waiver request if you have already paid for your application. A refund will not be issued. There are two different forms depending on the type of application you are submitting:

    Initial Applications, Advancements, and Transfers:

    If you are applying for a waiver for a new credential, advancing from an existing one, or transferring, use the dedicated Initials, Advancements, Exams, and Transfer Fee Waiver Form

    1. Complete the Initials, Advancements, Exams, and Transfers Applications Fee Waiver Form. In the form, select the credential(s) and application type(s) – initial, advancement, or transfer – you plan to use the waiver for.

    We recommend:

    • Submitting the waiver once you reach the payment step or immediately before you begin your application.
    • Please submit requests ONLY for credentials you will be applying for immediately
    1. Receive Your Waiver Packet

    After submitting the form, you’ll receive an email that includes:

    • Your unique Fee Waiver ID number
    • A PDF waiver summary file that summarizes the applications your waiver covers and your Fee Waiver ID number
    1. Apply in Certemy- To apply, go to the SUD Career Ladder page, find the credential you’re applying for, and click on it. On that credential’s page, you’ll find the link to the application.
    • Login to your Certemy account and start your credential application as usual. At the payment step, use the upload file function to submit your waiver certificate.

    Renewals

    For waivers for renewals of existing credentials, your waiver request form will be sent automatically to the email address linked to your Certemy account as long as you are expiring within the 180 days (6 months period that we are offering this waiver).

    To claim your renewal fee waiver:

    1. Locate the renewal waiver email in your inbox
    2. Click the link and complete the Renewal Waiver Request Form.
      • You will be asked to reference your certification number for the credential you are renewing
      • The rest of your information should autofill.
    3. Only one submission per certification number is allowed.
      • Duplicate submissions will trigger an error.
    4. After submitting the form:
      • Proceed to complete your normal renewal application in Certemy.
      • Skip the payment step, CCAPP staff will take it from there. You will be notified when the payment step is processed using your waiver.

    Guidelines to Keep in Mind:

    • Your waiver is valid only for the application types listed in your waiver summary.
    • Please DO NOT request duplicate waivers for the same credential or credential type
    • For initials and advancements, please only submit waiver requests for credentials you will be applying for immediately or within the next 3 months (June – August 2025)
    • You may only use the waivers ONE time for the certificate listed in the summary or for renewals, the certificate number you submitted in the form.
    • Waivers are nontransferable and may not be used in exchange for anything of value or applied to any credential or certificate other than the eligible and intended uses
    • No funds will be exchanged with customers using a fee waiver, this includes but is not limited to, refunds for any reason
