RADT Legacy

NOTICE

RADT Fee Update Effective August 1, 2025

Beginning August 1, 2025, the Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) fees will increase for all levels. The new fee will be $100 for initial applications and $60 for renewals.

Registration Process Overview

What is RADT Legacy?

RADT Legacy status applies to any registrant who became a Registered Alcohol Drug Technician (RADT) prior to July 1, 2025. Pursuant to Assembly Bill 2473 and DHCS Behavioral Health Information Notice (BHIN) 25-029, individuals who qualify as RADT Legacy are exempt from certain new education requirements that apply to RADT Trainee I registrants. However, to maintain RADT Legacy status, your registration must remain active.

If your registration expires at any time, you will lose RADT Legacy status and will be required to register as a RADT Trainee I and comply with the new DHCS requirements established under AB 2473 and BHIN 25-029.
